Transcend Supportive Living in Houston Heights

Transcend Houston is a luxury supportive living community designed for people rebuilding their lives from addiction, alcoholism, mental health conditions, and process addictions. Based in the heart of Houston Heights, we welcome residents from across Texas and the U.S. who want a higher level of structure, accountability, and day-to-day support than traditional sober living can offer.

Our men’s and women’s residences are located minutes apart in one of Houston’s most historic and walkable neighborhoods, creating a connected recovery community with the privacy and stability people need to restore momentum and return to independence with confidence.

Not Sober Living. Elevated Supportive Living.

Transcend is not a sober living home. While many sober living houses operate with limited oversight, Transcend is built as a supportive living model; high-engagement, staff-supported, and intentionally structured for early recovery and long-term stability.

What this means at Transcend:

  • A structured, recovery-focused living environment aligned with aftercare goals
  • A higher level of staff presence and support than a “house manager only” model
  • Clear expectations, accountability systems, and community standards
  • Support designed to complement outpatient care and ongoing treatment plans

The Ideal Step-Down After Treatment

Supportive living is often the most important next step after detox, residential treatment, or a structured inpatient program. This phase, often called aftercare, is where people learn how to translate recovery skills into real-world routines: consistency, responsibility, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships.

Transcend provides a stable, substance-free environment that helps residents protect the progress they made in treatment while rebuilding independence with real support around them.

Who Transcend Houston Supports

Transcend is designed for individuals who need structured living support while they stabilize and build long-term recovery, including those navigating:

  • Substance use disorders and chronic relapse cycles
  • Alcohol use disorder (alcoholism)
  • Co-occurring mental health challenges (anxiety, depression, trauma, mood instability)
  • Process addictions and compulsive behaviors
  • Transitioning from residential treatment
  • Engaged in Individualized Intensive Programming, PHP, IOP, or intensive outpatient care

Why Houston Heights Works for Recovery

Houston Heights offers a rare combination of calm and energy, tree-lined streets, walkable amenities, and a community feel that supports routine. It’s an environment where residents can build a healthier lifestyle without isolation: morning walks, nearby parks, local coffee shops, and a neighborhood rhythm that makes consistency easier.

Recovery isn’t only about avoiding substances. It’s about learning how to live well, day by day, in a setting that supports stability and forward movement.

Structure, Trust, and Accountability – Built In

Early recovery requires more than a beautiful home. It requires structure, because structure protects progress. At Transcend, accountability is not punitive; it’s supportive. Residents have clear expectations, consistent routines, and a recovery-centered community designed to reduce risk and support responsible independence.

Accountability measures may include scheduled routines, community standards, and randomized drug and alcohol testing to help residents stay aligned with their goals.

Included Weekly Experiences That Support Recovery

Transcend integrates whole-person recovery support into weekly community programming. These experiences are included as part of supportive living and are designed to help residents regulate stress, rebuild routine, and stay connected.

In-house experiences may include:

  • Chef prepared meals in house Monday through Friday
  • Fully staffed day and night
  • Transportation to and from appointments
  • Medication management and support
  • Local gym membership within walking distance of both locations
  • Weekend outings and events
  • Acupuncture and nervous system support
  • Meditation and mindfulness practices
  • Yoga and movement-based recovery
  • Goal setting and progress check-ins
  • Book study and personal development sessions depending on your WHY
  • Local recovery meetings and community connection
  • Alumni events and networking with peers

What Daily Life Looks Like at Transcend

Daily life at Transcend is designed to create balance: residents maintain personal freedom while living in a recovery-aligned environment built around responsibility and routine. Depending on each person’s treatment plan, residents may attend outpatient services, work, school, or structured appointments, while returning to a home environment that supports healthy habits.

Residents typically participate in scheduled house expectations, supportive check-ins, recovery-oriented activities, and accountability measures that help protect progress and reduce relapse risk *as applicable.

A little over a year ago, I entered Heights Treatment to recover from addictive issues and a myriad of other mental health issues. Over the course of 3 months, I would be met with high quality service, compassionate care providers, and the best environment a person could ask for. I cannot recommend this facility enough.

Khamille AvilaAlumni

The Heights Treatment program was an amazing success for my friend. She struggled with severe depression for years and was never able to find the right people to help her. The team at The Heights worked closely with her to get her on the right medications and develop a long term plan for her success.
