What Is Mentoring and Coaching?

A partial hospitalization program, also known as PHP, is an intensive level of outpatient care ideal for clients coming directly from a residential treatment or IIP program. It offers a structured environment for treatment and care with the desirable flexibility of going home.

For those struggling with work, home, social, or academic issues, this level of care will be exceptionally beneficial to their overall success as they recover safely. A partial hospitalization program at our rehab center in Houston is also a good fit for anyone who may need that increased level of structure and attention but aren’t able to commit to or can’t afford the cost of a residential treatment program.

Our PHP in Houston offers clients and families the structure of an intensive program for 5 days per week for approximately 6 hours per day, while also experiencing the benefit of living in their own home or another sober living arrangement.

Our staff specialize in helping these individuals as our approach to care is patient-forward and holistic, addressing both the symptoms and the root causes.

What Does Mentoring and Coaching in Houston Look Like?

At The Heights Treatment, we strongly believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to treatment for mental health issues, substance use disorders, or co-occurring diagnosis. Our clinical and therapeutic teams work hard to collaborate with each client in order to create a treatment plan that is unique to the individual and their goals.

Every client in our PHP program will undergo a detailed and holistic assessment. After which time a comprehensive care plan that is customized to their needs will be developed and initiated with their dedicated therapist.

We recognize the importance of including the entire family unit in treatment. To ensure this is successful, each PHP program client is assigned a Family Coordinator. This coordinator will work with the client and their family to facilitate and continue the healing process for everyone. Upon completion of PHP, patients are able to continue their recovery at our Intensive Outpatient Program in Houston.

Mentoring and Coaching Modalities

Each person we work with will have the opportunity to participate in various modalities of treatment we offer. Here, a variety of modalities are employed to help clients develop recovery skills, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, art psychotherapy, shame resiliency, healthy sex and love, and trauma-informed yoga.

Individual Therapy Sessions

After their initial assessment, each client is assigned a Primary Therapist. The client and the Primary Therapist will meet for individual therapy sessions twice each week. During these sessions, they will create an ongoing individualized treatment plan together that is completely customized to fit the unique needs of each client and their family.

Group Therapy Sessions

Group therapy is a valuable channel of community and peer support that are essential to healing and recovery. Group sessions are offered on a myriad of topics and are designed to create a safe space for discussion and processing.

Family Therapy

In addition to a primary therapist, each client is also assigned a Family Therapist. There will be opportunities for the client and their family members to meet with this therapist to take the journey to healing and recovery together.

This process at The Heights Treatment PHP ensures the client receives the necessary support outside of the program as well as providing care and support for the family members who have also been affected by the disorder or the process.
