TREATMENT WITH
The Daring Way®
The thoughts and beliefs we carry influence how we show up in our lives. For many navigating recovery, patterns of shame, guilt, and self-doubt can feel deeply rooted. Real change becomes possible when these internal narratives are explored with care, compassion, and evidence-based guidance. The Heights Treatment offers a calm, supportive space where individuals can do meaningful emotional work while receiving clinically grounded therapeutic care.
What Is the Daring Way?
The Daring Way is a therapeutic method developed from the research of professor, lecturer, and author of numerous New York Times Bestsellers, Dr. Brené Brown, known for her work on vulnerability, courage, and resilience.
This approach helps participants examine the beliefs and emotional patterns that influence their choices, relationships, and self-perception.
The Daring Way supports individuals in:
- Understanding how shame and fear shape behavior
- Building emotional resilience and courage
- Identifying healthier ways of responding to internal stress
- Cultivating authenticity and meaningful connection
How Can The Daring Way Help in Recovery?
For many individuals, recovery requires more than behavioral change. It involves understanding the emotional patterns that influenced past choices and learning to relate to oneself with compassion, honesty, and courage.
The Daring Way helps clients explore these deeper layers with guided support and structured reflection. Over time this work strengthens self-worth, emotional stability, and the capacity to create lasting change.
At The Heights Treatment our clinical team integrates The Daring Way as part of a holistic approach to long-term healing and personal growth.

Where Can I Find Daring Way Therapy?
Daring Way therapy is not as widely accessible as other types of therapy like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). It is a specialized therapy requiring that those leading these sessions are Daring Way certified.
Daring Way therapy is available at The Heights as part of our holistic approach to substance abuse recovery.
What Does a Daring Way Facilitator Do?
During a session, a Certified Daring Way Facilitator (CDWF) will encourage participants to explore their behaviors, motivations, emotions, and thoughts that are keeping them in the cycle of addiction and help them identify new choices and patterns that lead them toward a more authentic, fulfilling life.
A CDWF facilitates the exploration of vulnerability as it relates to both feelings of guilt and shame as well as courage.
This type of therapy is a holistic adjunct therapy to talk therapy and other evidence-based modalities.
