Dr. Jamal Rafique

Dr. Jamal Rafique, MD, serves as the Medical Director at The Heights Treatment, bringing more than three decades of psychiatric expertise to the team. Board certified in Psychiatry, Dr. Rafique specializes in psychotic disorders, addiction, substance use, and co-occurring mental health conditions. He has been a valued part of The Heights Treatment since 2020, where he provides clinical oversight and psychiatric care to support clients in achieving long-term recovery and improved mental health.

Dr. Rafique earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College before completing his psychiatry residency at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. He went on to complete a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. Over his career, he has practiced in both hospital and outpatient settings across the Houston area, including affiliations with Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire and Westpark Springs Hospital.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Rafique has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in the fields of psychiatry and medical science, further underscoring his dedication to advancing knowledge and treatment in behavioral health.
